2024-06-23 16:27:06 +0000 UTC View PostI went to a coffee tasting the other day. โ๏ธ
They had coffees from all regions of the island. It was so interesting to learn how coffees from different soil qualities produce entirely different flavors. The trees and spices which are grown in conjunction to the coffee plants will come out in the flavor of the coffee. My favorite coffee was a bean called โPeaberryโ, which refers to the pea shape of the bean, as itโs technically a deformed bean, having both lobes moulded together. It naturally happens and makes a percentage of each harvest. Historically, these beans are often discarded. But because of their small size theyโre sweeter and have a lighter and more smooth taste. It makes a very mild and delicious coffee in my opinion.
Ti leaves are known in Hawaii to be protective from bad energies. ๐งฟ Youโll often see them around the borders or entrance of a property, or planted in a circle around something meaningful.
2024-06-16 04:01:22 +0000 UTC View PostSo.. Iโm working on a new project. I just bought a tiny home! Itโs gorgeous and will be fully off grid with a water catchment tank and solar system. Iโm currently getting this road cleared leading to the spot itโs going, right next to the ocean on a cliff, deep in the jungle๐ฟ This is an old cane road, used by machines to carry sugarcane in and out of the old plantations. Iโll be giving a tour on OFTV once itโs all set up! ๐

2024-06-11 18:52:21 +0000 UTC View PostThis is my oldest cow, Blumie. Sheโs 24 years old. I got her some years ago from a family who had her as a milk cow for a long time. Sheโs a Brahma and Tarentaise mix, and sheโs very gentle and intelligent and loves getting pets. Iโm having her graze around the house right now because Iโm too lazy to mow it. ๐

2024-05-27 18:13:07 +0000 UTC View PostThis pasture is so lush now. The bulls and cows have been grazing it for the past 6 months or so. When we started here, the land had stiff brown/green grass with thick dead clumps. Over time, the bulls and cows dropping manure added bacteria and worms to the soil. Their hooves stomping repeatedly aerates the dirt and breaks down large clumps of grass, allowing the healthiest roots to come in. This is the power of regenerative ruminant animal grazing.
Eyes up here!
